The emergence of a new generation of fast "three rubles" under the brand Alpina was only a matter of time. We assumed that the sedan would be the first to enter the market, because the base car debuted in the fall of 2018, and this spring already went to European buyers. However, the Alpina B3 Touring station wagon is shown at the Frankfurt Salon – at the same time as the original G21 Touring. I saw him alive at a closed BMW NextGen conference.
Alpina B3 Touring is based on the all-wheel drive version of the M340i xDrive. The B58 engine boost circuit was changed: instead of one twin-flow turbocharger, two separate superchargers were screwed into Bukhloe. The output has increased significantly: from 374 forces and 500 N • m to 462 hp. and 700 N • m. It is not clear how much the car has become faster: the Germans do not provide data on acceleration from zero to hundreds. But they say that the maximum speed exceeds 300 km / h.
Transmission with an eight-speed automatic 8HP76 manufactured by ZF is complemented by a rear limited-slip differential. The effectiveness of the brake system is increased due to the front discs, the size of which increased from 348 mm to 395. The suspension uses adaptive shock absorbers with original settings. Acceptance of orders in Europe will begin in the first quarter of 2020, and BMW dealers will not receive customer machines at all until the summer. Unfortunately, Alpina cars are no longer sold in Russia.
