The prosecutor's office will check the case of the purchase by the mother of a medicine to a disabled son
The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office (MMTP) will verify the lawfulness of criminal proceedings against a mother who has acquired a foreign drug containing a psychotropic substance for a terminally ill child. This was reported on the website of the department.
The Office of the Prosecutor General entrusted the Ministry to study the case materials. “They will also analyze the reasons why in this case it was not possible to purchase medicines in the manner prescribed by law,” the statement said.
On August 16, Lida Moniava, the head of the House with a Lighthouse foundation, said that a woman was detained at a post office in Moscow who purchased the Frizium drug unregistered in Russia in an online store for her son. Customs officers opened a criminal case against the woman, she said.
The children's ombudsman for Moscow, Yevgeny Bunimovich, called the situation inhuman and absurd. He appealed to the head of the Ministry of Health Veronika Skvortsova with a request to make effective medicines in the register.
