Former Spanish coach Luis Enrique, 49, is mourning his daughter Xana. As Enrique himself announced on his Twitter account on Thursday night, Xana died of bone cancer at the age of just nine.

Resignation for "urgent private reasons"
The diagnosis was obtained five months ago and they tried together to fight the disease. In vain. On June 19th, Enrique had completely unexpectedly submitted his resignation as coach. At that time he called only "urgent private reasons" as an occasion for his decision.
Enrique previously coached, among others, the Roma and FC Barcelona, with whom he won in 2015, including the Champions League. As a player Enrique was active for both Barca and the arch rival Real Madrid and was considered in the 90s as one of the best offensive midfielder in the world.
