The moment of truth has finally arrived for the Detroit Youth Choir as they learned whether America voted them into the finals of “America’s Got Talent.”

They did it! They are in next week’s finale for a shot at the $1 million grand prize.

Judge Simon Cowell, who has praised them since the beginning, said they deserve it. “DYC, you know what, you earned this. And now, you’re going to be in, in my opinion, the best final we have ever had.”

Choir director Anthony T. White thanked the judges and America: “I’m overwhelmed right now. I love everybody and my kids. The city of Detroit loves you. Thank you judges. We love you. We love you America.”

The choir members, which range in ages from 8 to 18, performed “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco live in the semifinals on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. They brought judge Gabrielle Union to tears.

“I started off crying and I never stopped. You took us to church. You took us to praise and worship. It was everything. You guys were amazing!”

The 10 finalists: Detroit Youth Choir, Emanne Beasha, Ryan Niemiller, Voices of Service, V. Unbeatable, Kodi Lee, Benicio Bryant, Tyler Butler-Figueroa, Light Balance Kids and Ndlovu Youth Choir.

The two night season 14 finale is next Tuesday and Wednesday, September 17 and 18 at 8:00 p.m. on NBC.
