A Scottish primary school closed today after a student tested positive for coronavirus.

Glashieburn Elementary School in the Bridge of Don area of ​​Aberdeen is closed to all students and staff.

The Aberdeen City Council confirmed that the school will close today but will reopen tomorrow.

A text to parents / carers of the school says: “The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to us.

“After confirming a confirmed coronavirus case and solid risk assessment, we decided to close the school today for both students and staff. We will advise you when the school will reopen.”

A council spokeswoman said: “In accordance with national guidelines, Glashieburn Primary School is being closed today for precautionary measures against coronavirus after a confirmed student case for cleaning.
