Emre Can has said he is extremely shocked after Juventus has not included him on his list for the Champions League and is planning to clarify it when he returns from the international commitment to Germany.
Can, who joined Juve on a free transfer from Liverpool in the summer of 2018, said Series A champions lied to him when he was considering a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain during the summer.
Can, 25, will not be available for Juventus during the Champions League group stages this season, as he was not named on the Maurizio Sarri 22-man team, and said he was barely informed of the decision on Tuesday.
"It was extremely shocking to me," Can told reporters in Hamburg before Germany’s Euro 2020 qualifying match against the Netherlands. "Our conversation lasted less than a minute.
"I received no explanation. This makes me angry. I am upset. I will draw my conclusions and talk to the club once I return from the national team."
Can's future in Juventus had been in the air during the last days of the transfer window, but he decided to stay in Italy despite other offers.
"The club told me and promised different things last week," Can said. "Paris was an option.
"But I chose to remain in Juve on the condition that I am part of the Champions League team."
Croatian international Mario Mandzukic was another renowned omission, while Giorgio Chiellini's knee injury has ruled him out of the entire group stage.
