Tom Brady mentally cut the New England Patriots two days before basically agreeing to a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“It was really the night I stopped by and spoke to (owner) Mr. (Robert) Kraft,” he said on Tuesday at his introductory conference, said Michael Hurley of CBS Boston. “And we talked and we had a great conversation. And I just wanted to express what he means to me in my life and we talked to coach (Bill) Belichick at the same time. We were in different places and talked to him Es was a great conversation. I also had the opportunity to speak to Jonathan Kraft. All three have been involved in so many important decisions in my life, professionally and personally. “
After 20 seasons and six Super Bowl championships in New England, Brady officially brought his talents to Tampa on March 20 and signed a two-year deal that is said to guarantee $ 50 million.
The quarterback released a statement on social media the morning after his meeting with Kraft, announcing that he would not return to the patriots.
Characteristically, Brady was otherwise a mother when asked about leaving New England.
“I don’t want to talk about the past because it is irrelevant to what’s important in my future and what’s going on for me in this off-season,” he said.
The 42-year-old noticed that he was not disappointed. The patriots did not try to keep him.
“There is nobody who is a bigger fan of the Patriots than I am,” he said. “I have nothing but absolute respect and love. I am so grateful to Mr. Kraft, the organization, the trainer Belichick, all the trainers and of course all my teammates.”
When asked about Kraft, who suggested that Brady leave Foxborough voluntarily after departure, Brady said he was “not responsible” for these comments.
“I think Mr. Kraft has been a big influence in my life and I am so grateful for the two decades and have indicated that it was an amazing thing for my family recently,” he said.
Brady left the Patriots as the most successful quarterback in NFL history.
