Two generals resign after the purge featured in the Turkish Army

Two major Turkish generals have resigned Thursday from their positions in the Army one day after the announced purge of 149 generals and admirals, 40% of the total, after the failed coup to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reported by the CNN Turk.

According to the agency private press Dogan, the two generals sonIhsan Uyar, head of the Army, and Kamil Basoglu, head of “training and doctrine command.”

the two generals have resigned before a meeting of the Supreme Military Council scheduled for today in Ankara to decide on the deep reform that should undertake the Army after the failed coup attempt.
