The deputy of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada from the faction “People’s Front” Yuri Bereza said that the return of the Crimea and the Donbass to Ukraine can only happen by force. About this he declared in an interview with the TV channel “112 Ukraine”.
The deputy noted that thanks to the Minsk Agreements, Ukraine was able to put its own military construction in order and reorganize the armed forces. “Only the Ukrainian army, Ukrainian soldiers are able to regain sovereignty in the Donbass and Crimea. There will not be any other options, “Bereza said. The deputy stressed that the Ukrainian army had become “one of the most capable armies in Europe”, and “the time of Russia is ending.”
At the end of January, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksenov declared , that the peninsula became an “impregnable fortress” after entering Russia. “Crimea will never return to Ukraine, it makes no sense to set conditions for achieving this goal,” the politician said. He said that Crimea, being part of Ukraine, was “deprived” of power by the authorities.
In March 2014, a referendum was held in the Crimea, following which the peninsula became part of Russia. In Ukraine, Crimea is considered to be a “temporarily occupied territory” and intend to restore the powers of the Ukrainian authorities on the peninsula. In 2017 Ukraine banned entry for 1,5 thousand foreigners who visited the Crimea.
